Essential Functions:
- Provide athletic training services for varsity student-athletes. This includes care, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Evaluate and treat athletic injuries.
- Design and supervise rehab plans
- Preventative taping, bracing, wrapping prior to participation.
- Activate the Emergency Action Plan in the event of an emergency situation.
- Ensure safe playing conditions by monitoring severe weather.
- Provide athletic training coverage for all home contests, practices, athletic training room hours and away contests as deemed necessary.
- Organize and maintain medical records including but not limited to injury evaluations, rehab programs, progress notes, doctor clearances, secondary insurance claims, etc.
- Communicate with coaches regarding the status of their athletes.
Communicate with team physicians, parents, on-campus personnel, Wellness Center staff, etc. when appropriate. - Assist in the assignment, training, and supervision of Sports Medicine Student Assistants.
- Ensure the completion of pre-participation exam paperwork, PPE by team physician and baseline concussion testing prior to participation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized and well stocked medical facility
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine
Valid Driver’s License required.
3-5 years work experience
